Dr. Carlnita Greene unanimously recommended to serve as Acting President.
March 20, 2026Dear College Community,
At the Board of Trustees meeting on March 19, 2026, Dr. Carlnita Greene was unanimously recommended to serve as Acting President following Dr. Cox’s retirement, of which I was notified on Monday, March 16. That recommendation is contingent on approval by the Board of Higher Education.
Since Monday, the Board has taken immediate and deliberate steps to ensure a smooth leadership transition. This has included notifying the Commissioner of Higher Education and working closely with state general counsel and the Massachusetts Association of Community Colleges. In consultation with these partners and guided by established best practices, the Board moved promptly to recommend an appointment of an Acting President to maintain continuity and stability in the College’s leadership.
Dr. Greene brings experience, steady leadership, and a deep commitment to our mission, and we are confident in her ability to guide the College during this transition.
Looking ahead, the Board’s focus will turn to the future of the presidency. This will involve thoughtful discussion and planning, including consideration of a longer-term interim appointment and what will be needed for a full, national search.
I recognize that this academic year—and particularly this week—has brought a great deal of uncertainty and stress to our community. Please know that the Board is committed to transparency, stability, and the continued success of our students, faculty, and staff.
Thank you all for your ongoing dedication to the College and to one another.
Sincerely,
Tammy Glivinski-Saben
