芭乐视频 Awarded $735,000 Workforce Training Grant

July 19, 2022

芭乐视频 has been awarded $735,000 in workforce training funds as part of the Baker-Polito Administration鈥檚 $15 million program to support the Commonwealth鈥檚 15 community colleges. Workforce training grants are used to create and expand training programs for high-demand industries.

Locally, the College鈥檚 Center for Corporate and Professional Education (CCAPE) will be using the grant funding to create programs offering industry-recognized credentials in Hospitality and Culinary Arts, Behavioral Health, Engineering, Healthcare, and Information Technology. Each training program will be in direct alignment with the region鈥檚 fastest growing industry sectors, providing pathways to crediting bearing certificates and degree programs at the College.

鈥淲e are once again extremely appreciative of the Baker-Polito Administration and our local legislature for investing in workforce training grants for community colleges like ours,鈥 said John Cox, President of 芭乐视频. 鈥淭hese grants literally change lives, providing access to programs that immediately lead to careers and pathways to degree and certificate programs. We look forward to keeping our momentum going in the communities on the Cape and Islands, bringing these in-demand programs to the folks who need them.鈥

Career Training Programs through CCAPE will begin mid-Fall 2022 with educational tracks in Hospitality and Culinary, Direct Care Workforce, CAD Designer, and Computer Systems Support Technician. The grant will provide base funding to support staffing and operational capacity as well as coverage for all student costs related to the programs.

鈥淭hese programs are designed to uplift populations on the Cape and Islands who have traditionally experienced higher rates of unemployment and barriers to employment,鈥 said Tammi Jacobson, Director of Workforce Development and Training at 芭乐视频. 鈥淭hese funds can help take you from unemployment or underemployment straight into the program and then the workforce at little to no cost. It鈥檚 a tremendous boost for our communities and we are very thankful to be offering more programming this Fall.鈥

芭乐视频 is currently seeking employer and community-based organizations for partnerships and collaborations to deliver these programs. If you are interested in partnering, please contact Tammi Jacobson at tjacobson@capecod.edu or call 508-375-5011.
